SUMMARY:Honey Creek Guided Walks with Ranger Gil at Guadalupe River State Park
DESCRIPTION:Nature enthusiasts can explore one of Texas’ last pristine waterways during the Honey Creek Guided Walks with Ranger Gil at Guadalupe River State Park. Led by Honey Creek State Natural Area Superintendent Gil Martinez\, the interpretive walk offers an in-depth look at the natural and cultural history of the Honey Creek area. \nThe guided hikes will take place from 8:30 am to 10:30 am on June 3\, June 17\, July 1\, and July 15. Participants will travel along a moderate two-mile trail featuring mostly flat terrain along with some rocky sections\, slopes\, and two short but steep hills. Frequent stops throughout the walk allow guests to learn about local flora\, fauna\, geology\, and the region’s historical significance. \nThe program is recommended for ages 7 and older. Dogs are not permitted\, with the exception of service animals. Guests should meet outside the Rust House within Guadalupe River State Park and are encouraged to wear sturdy footwear\, bring water\, and prepare for summer weather conditions with proper sun protection. \nAdmission to the walk is free with park entry. Park admission is $7 for adults\, while children ages 12 and under are admitted free. Registration is required for participation.
