Participants will explore natural habitats while learning about the region’s bird populations and the surrounding ecosystem. \nThe program is recommended for ages 10 and older. Dogs are not permitted\, except for service animals. Participants should arrive at Honey Creek Ranch at 8:50 am\, with directions and a map provided by email three days before the event to those who register. Guests are encouraged to bring sturdy footwear\, water\, sun protection\, and binoculars. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow. \nAdmission is free with park entry. Park admission is $7 for adults\, and children 12 and under enter free. The walk is held from 8:30 am to 11:00 am and lasts approximately 2.5 hours. \nLed by certified guides and sponsored by The Friends of Guadalupe River State Park and Honey Creek State Natural Area\, this interpretive walk offers insight into the region’s natural and cultural history. Along the way\, participants will learn about local flora\, fauna\, and geology while visiting the clear waters of Honey Creek. \nThe trail is about two miles long and considered moderate in difficulty\, with mostly flat terrain along with some rocky sections\, slopes\, and a few short but steep hills. The group will meet outside the Rust House within Guadalupe River State Park. \nThe program is recommended for ages 7 and up. Dogs are not permitted\, except for service animals.
