This celebration marks the completion of Field 11 and the successful delivery of a key component of the 2022 Bond Election — the installation of new sports field lighting at both Northrup Park and Boerne City Park.\n\nWhen?  Tuesday\, March 3 at 6 p.m.Where? Northrup Park – Field 11\, Boerne\, TX\n\nNorthrup Park has long been a cornerstone of youth and adult athletics in Boerne. In 1995\, recognizing the growing need for youth baseball\, softball\, and adult league fields\, the City of Boerne purchased 103 acres from the Lynn L. Northrup Jr. family. The park proudly bears their name in recognition of the family’s generosity and partnership in making the land acquisition possible. Since opening in 2000\, the park has served generations of Boerne families and athletes.\n\nTo mark the occasion\, we’ll have hot dogs\, drinks and fun giveaways as we gather to celebrate the continued investment in our parks and the bright future ahead. The evening will feature brief remarks from city leaders and a special “flip the switch” ceremony as we officially turn on the new lights.

SUMMARY:Honey Creek Guided Walk at Guadalupe River State Park
DESCRIPTION:Visitors can explore one of Texas’ most pristine waterways during the Honey Creek Guided Walk\, held every Saturday through October 31\, 2026\, from 8:30 am to 11 am at Guadalupe River State Park\, 3350 Park Road 31\, Spring Branch\, TX 78070. Sponsored by the Friends of Guadalupe River State Park and Honey Creek State Natural Area\, the program features certified guides who lead participants on an interpretive walk through the area’s unique natural landscape. \nThe guided hike covers approximately two miles and is considered moderately difficult. Much of the trail is flat\, though it includes some rocky terrain\, slopes\, and two short but steep hills. The walk typically lasts about two and a half hours\, with frequent stops to discuss local flora\, fauna\, geology\, and the cultural history of the region. \nThe program is recommended for ages 7 and older. Dogs are not permitted\, except for service animals. Participants will meet outside the Rust House within Guadalupe River State Park and are encouraged to wear sturdy footwear and bring water and sun protection. \nRegistration is required and may be completed at https://fs18.formsite.com/TPWD/tntfhrb0ko/index. If ADA assistance is needed\, requests should be submitted at least two weeks in advance by emailing accessibility@tpwd.texas.gov. Park programs may be subject to change or cancellation due to inclement weather.

Designed for children ages 2 to 7\, this engaging spring series combines age-appropriate learning with imaginative art experiences in a small-group setting. \nEach class begins with a short introduction or themed story\, followed by an animal-inspired art project\, sensory play stations\, and a few sweet treats to complete the experience. Sessions are offered in two time slots at 10 am and 12 pm\, with a maximum of eight children per class. Caregivers are required to stay and participate alongside their child. \nEach date in the series highlights a different animal theme\, including Bugs on February 27\, Dogs on March 7\, Cows on April 17\, and Chickens on May 1.
