Frequent stops throughout the walk allow guests to learn about local flora\, fauna\, geology\, and the region’s historical significance. \nThe program is recommended for ages 7 and older. Dogs are not permitted\, with the exception of service animals. Guests should meet outside the Rust House within Guadalupe River State Park and are encouraged to wear sturdy footwear\, bring water\, and prepare for summer weather conditions with proper sun protection. \nAdmission to the walk is free with park entry. Park admission is $7 for adults\, while children ages 12 and under are admitted free. Registration is required for participation. The event will take place on Saturday\, May 23\, 2026 and Saturday\, June 20\, 2026 from 8 pm to 10 pm at Guadalupe River State Park. \nGuests can drop in at any time during the event to view the moon\, constellations\, planets\, and more through telescopes provided by members of the San Antonio Astronomical Association and park staff. The event is designed for all ages and offers a fun and educational way to experience the night sky. \nThe gathering will be held in the large overflow parking lot near the park road\, with signage directing visitors to the location. Admission is free with park entry\, which is $7 for adults and free for children 12 and under. \nVisitors arriving after hours without a reservation may use the self-pay station at the park office or reserve a day pass online in advance. In case of inclement weather\, cancellations will be announced by 2 pm on the day of the event.
