Participants will explore natural habitats while learning about the region’s bird populations and the surrounding ecosystem. \nThe program is recommended for ages 10 and older. Dogs are not permitted\, except for service animals. Participants should arrive at Honey Creek Ranch at 8:50 am\, with directions and a map provided by email three days before the event to those who register. Guests are encouraged to bring sturdy footwear\, water\, sun protection\, and binoculars. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow. \nAdmission is free with park entry. Park admission is $7 for adults\, and children 12 and under enter free. DESCRIPTION:As the sun sets over the Hill Country\, the trails at the Cibolo Center for Conservation take on a whole new character during these guided Adult Night Hikes. Designed to highlight nocturnal wildlife and evening ecology\, these hikes invite participants to experience the preserve after dark through longer routes\, lesser-known trails\, and periods spent without flashlights to allow natural night vision to adjust. The experience is immersive\, engaging\, and well suited for adults and mature teenagers interested in exploring nature from a different perspective. \nAdult Night Hikes are offered on select dates throughout the year\, with start and end times adjusted to match seasonal sunset changes. Upcoming hikes are scheduled for February 20\, 2026 from 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm; March 20\, 2026 from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm; April 17\, 2026 from 7:45 pm to 9:15 pm; May 15\, 2026 from 8:15 pm to 9:45 pm; August 21\, 2026 from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm; September 18\, 2026 from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm; and October 16\, 2026 from 6:45 pm to 8:15 pm. \nAdmission is $15 per person. These hikes are intended for adults of all ages\, with “adult” defined as mature teenagers and older. Participants should be prepared for uneven terrain and low-light conditions. Led by State Natural Area Superintendent Gilbert\, the program provides a unique opportunity to visit Honey Creek Ranch and observe the diverse bird species that pass through the area during migration season. \nThe guided walk covers approximately two miles of level terrain and is suitable for both experienced birders and those new to birdwatching. Participants will explore natural habitats while learning about the region’s bird populations and the surrounding ecosystem. \nThe program is recommended for ages 10 and older. Dogs are not permitted\, except for service animals. Participants should arrive at Honey Creek Ranch at 8:50 am\, with directions and a map provided by email three days before the event to those who register. Guests are encouraged to bring sturdy footwear\, water\, sun protection\, and binoculars. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow. \nAdmission is free with park entry. Park admission is $7 for adults\, and children 12 and under enter free. Visitors must check in at park headquarters at Guadalupe River State Park\, 3350 Park Road 31\, Spring Branch\, TX\, to obtain an entry permit or make a day-use reservation online at texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com. \nRegistration is required for the program. DESCRIPTION:The 12th Annual Aid the Silent 5K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday\, June 6\, 2026\, at Main Plaza in downtown Boerne. Participants can take part in this community-driven event to raise awareness and support for Aid the Silent\, a nonprofit organization providing resources and empowerment for deaf and hard-of-hearing children and teens. \nThe in-person 5K begins at 8:00 am\, with race-day registration\, packet pickup\, and timing chip distribution from 7:00 am to 7:40 am. A virtual race option is also available for those who prefer to support the cause from home. \nEntry fees are as follows: \n\nVirtual 5K: $25\nEarly Bird through April 12: $35\nApril 13 – May 15: $40\nMay 15 – June 6: $45\nRace Day Registration: $50 (shirts based on availability)\n\nDeaf and hard-of-hearing individuals may participate for free with proof via audiogram.
