DESCRIPTION:Lifelong learners and literary enthusiasts are invited to the next gathering of the Wittliff Book+ Club on Thursday\, October 2 at 2:00 pm at the Patrick Heath Public Library\, located at 451 N Main Street\, Boerne\, TX. \nThis month’s featured book is I Know About a Thousand Things: The Writings of Ann Alejandro of Uvalde\, Texas\, edited by Naomi Shihab Nye and Marion Winik. Known for her heartfelt and humorous letters\, Ann Alejandro captured the spirit of life in the rural Southwest with vivid storytelling\, keen observation\, and deep affection for the natural world. Though she never sought publication\, her friends compiled this curated collection to honor her extraordinary voice. \nThe event includes two segments: a presentation of archival material related to the book from the Wittliff Collections at Texas State University\, followed by an open group discussion. \nThe Wittliff Book+ Club is a collaboration between the Patrick Heath Public Library and Life Long Learning in San Marcos\, Texas. \nTo participate\, please RSVP to Sarah Habeeb at shabeeb@boernelibrary.org or call 830-249-3053.
