In 1995\, recognizing the growing need for youth baseball\, softball\, and adult league fields\, the City of Boerne purchased 103 acres from the Lynn L. Northrup Jr. family. The park proudly bears their name in recognition of the family’s generosity and partnership in making the land acquisition possible. Since opening in 2000\, the park has served generations of Boerne families and athletes.\n\nTo mark the occasion\, we’ll have hot dogs\, drinks and fun giveaways as we gather to celebrate the continued investment in our parks and the bright future ahead. The evening will feature brief remarks from city leaders and a special “flip the switch” ceremony as we officially turn on the new lights.

Players can warm up during open boards beginning at 6 pm\, with check-in at 6:30 pm and Round Robin Switch play starting promptly at 7 pm on select dates throughout the season. \nThe tournament features four games of round robin play followed by a switch double elimination bracket\, guaranteeing a total of six games. Teams are formed through a 50/50 pairing format\, matching a random top-half player with a random bottom-half player. If there is an odd number of participants\, a ghost player will be manually placed. An airmail competition takes place between round robin and bracket play for added excitement. \nThe entry fee is $15\, with 70 percent payout awarded to the top three finishers. Tournament times vary throughout the year: February 12 through March 5 runs from 7 pm to 10:30 pm; March 12 through October 29 runs from 6 pm to 9:30 pm; and November 5 through December 17 returns to 7 pm to 10:30 pm.
