SUMMARY:Aid the Silent 5K Run/Walk at Main Plaza
DESCRIPTION:The 12th Annual Aid the Silent 5K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday\, June 6\, 2026\, at Main Plaza in downtown Boerne. Participants can take part in this community-driven event to raise awareness and support for Aid the Silent\, a nonprofit organization providing resources and empowerment for deaf and hard-of-hearing children and teens. \nThe in-person 5K begins at 8:00 am\, with race-day registration\, packet pickup\, and timing chip distribution from 7:00 am to 7:40 am. A virtual race option is also available for those who prefer to support the cause from home. \nEntry fees are as follows: \n\nVirtual 5K: $25\nEarly Bird through April 12: $35\nApril 13 – May 15: $40\nMay 15 – June 6: $45\nRace Day Registration: $50 (shirts based on availability)\n\nDeaf and hard-of-hearing individuals may participate for free with proof via audiogram. Team registration is available\, and once a team reaches 10 participants\, each member will receive a $5 refund. \nAwards will be given to overall male and female finishers (gun timed)\, as well as the top three male and female runners in various age groups (chip timed). \nPacket pickup is available: \n\nJune 4\, 11:00 am – 6:00 pm at Aid the Silent\, 8126 Broadway St.\, San Antonio\nJune 5\, 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Rudkin Productions\, 34910 IH-10 West\, Bldg #701\, Boerne\nRace day packet pickup will be held from 7:00 am to 7:40 am at Main Plaza.\n\nMain Plaza is located at 100 N. DESCRIPTION:Looking for a unique way to celebrate Independence Day? Well\, dress up in your patriotic best and head over to Main Plaza to run (or walk) the 7th Annual Flag Run 5K. It includes a 5 mile run and a one mile walk. \nSign up and get a t-shirt as well as a medal when you finish. There will be food\, drinks\, and more. It’s fun for the entire family! \nProceeds go to the Boerne Fire Department\, as well as a scholarship for one lucky senior in BISD next year. \nWe ran it last year\, and plan on being there again. DESCRIPTION:The Boerne YMCA’s Turkey Trot is always the weekend before Thanksgiving at Main Plaza\, and it’s one of the town’s largest races. \nThe 5K and 10K races are competitively timed\, and participants will receive a finisher medal. The 10K covers the 5K course twice\, while the 1-mile walk meanders along Cibolo Creek Trail. A virtual race option is also available for those who prefer to run on their own time. Proceeds benefit the Boerne Family YMCA’s scholarship program. \nEntry Fees: \n\n5K: $25–$55 (depending on registration date and age)\n10K: $35–$65\n1 Mile Trail Walk: $20–$25\nVirtual 5K: $45–$55\n\nAward Categories:\nThe top 3 overall male and female runners in both the 5K and 10K\, as well as winners in specific age groups\, will receive recognition. \nPacket Pickup:\nTBD \nRace Day Schedule: \nIn the past\, this has been the schedule.
