After closing down during Covid in 2021 and disappearing for years, Random Beer Garden quietly opened it’s doors again this past spring.
The newly reopened family spot felt like a blast from the Pre-Pandemic past, and we were so thankful for its return. We, and so many other Boerne families, had made so many good memories there.
Random even acted as the inaugural spot for the Das Festival of Kendall, a rebirth of Berges Fest, which celebrated our town’s heritage.
Unfortunately, we’re sad to report that according to one of the people leasing the property, the second run has been cut short. In a Facebook post, Michael Shackelford announced Random’s impending closure.
Citing a “different vision than our landlord,” Shackelford explained they’d be closing their doors after this weekend. He went on to thank all his friends that helped out, including 28 Songs Brewery.
Random is a favorite family spot for us, and we hope this is not the end. We just celebrated our son’s birthday there back at the end of May!
That being said, this iteration of Random will be open for one last hurrah this weekend, Friday-Sunday. As a send off, they will be running a special, $5 all beers all weekend! So get out there and help them get rid of all the beer, with specials all weekend long. We’ll definitely see y’all there!
