DESCRIPTION:In celebration of Arbor Day\, the city will be giving away 65 trees to residents\, encouraging the community to help expand the urban canopy. The tree pick-up will take place on Tuesday\, November 12\, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at City Hall\, 447 N. Main St.\, in the grassy area between City Hall and the library. \nEach resident can receive one overstory and one understory tree\, while supplies last. Available varieties include Cedar Elm\, Bald Cypress\, Roughleaf Dogwood\, Pecan\, Mexican Plum\, Flameleaf Sumac\, and Eastern Cottonwood in limited quantities. Be sure to arrive early for the best selection! \nIt’s not really Arbor Day\, but this is the time of year it makes sense to plant trees in our climate!
