Sisterdale Bioblitz

Join wildlife experts and enthusiasts to record wildlife observations using the iNaturalist app at the Sisterdale Sanctuary in Sisterdale, TX.
In the morning and afternoon sessions, you will be identifying plants, birds, and butterflies and conducting a herp search to establish a baseline inventory of the property. In the evening, you will be conducting moth data collection (18+).
Observations will be used to inform land management practices at the Sanctuary. Volunteers should be familiar with iNaturalist.
Schedule: Earth Day, April 22, 2025
- 8-10am: Birds
- 10-noon: Plants & Butterflies
- 1-3pm: Plants & Butterflies
- 9-11am: Herp Search
- 4-6pm: Herp Search
- 8:30-10:30pm: Moth Count with Craig Hensley
Location: Sisterdale Sanctuary (1250 FM 473, Boerne, TX)
Requirements: Experience using iNaturalist.
What to Bring: Reusable water bottle, sturdy hiking shoes (some terrain is very rocky), long pants, bug spray, sunscreen, etc.
