68 Best Foods in Boerne, According to Locals

A while back, we took to Facebook to ask a not-so-simple question: You can only eat one thing from one Boerne restaurant for the rest of your life. What is it? And it turns out, lots of locals have strong opinions on what the best things to eat are around town!

So we compiled the answers (and added a few personal favorites) into a guide to serve as your food roadmap for the next year!

Check out these 68 foods from local restaurants that you need to try!

Featured: The Pioneers Chicken Prego Sandwich (with Peri-Peri)

Listen, if you like spicy, change whatever plans you have today and head to Pioneers Meats & International Deli at 312 River Rd.

This grilled chicken sandwich (choose peri-peri sauce) is simply out of this world.

Over the last couple weeks we’ve tried all their dried meats, the sausage rolls, the classic breakfast sandwich, the pepper steak pie, the family meal (yes, a full family dinner to-go!) and more. I know… that’s a lot ha!

And we simply can’t recommend this spot enough.

For that reason, we’re proud to partner with them to make sure you know to give them a try… you’ll be hooked.

  1. Really? “68 Best Foods in Boerne, According to Locals”? Don’t you mean you just made a list of all the restaurants in Boerne? You listed several with basically the same, or close to the same, menu. What? Don’t act appalled. So, this is basically a list of those contestants that vaguely can be classified as a restaurant, which you decided to bestow upon them, each and every one of them, a participation trophy. Everybody can’t have the BEST brisket/barbecue? And you listed restaurants… wooh… you listed a seafood restaurant that is easily beaten by opening a pouch of tuna fish from off the shelf at Wal-Mart. Another that sells a “Reuben” that cost $18.00 that is nowhere near a Reuben sandwich (the comparison, recipe wise, is so bad it’s like comparing a firetruck to a fence post – they aren’t the same thing). Look, I’m not trying to be a jerk about this, but it really gets old when somebody is kicking sand in your face while asking you how do you like the beach. Or is it that you just needed to fill some time and waste some space on a web page? How about this? Go back, do more research. Actually ask people, more than your friends sitting in your living room, what are their favorite restaurants/food in Boerne. I suggest doing so because your list does a disservice to those restaurants and dishes that are truly note worthy.

  2. No mention of BTH! Boerne Taco House!?! Does a restaurant on the list pay to be listed? The BEST Mex in Boerne…not even close.
Go by after church on a Sunday…usually packed. Ask to say hello to Carlos the owner.
