Boerne might be one of the most photogenic holiday towns in the Texas Hill country, if not all of Texas. From trees growing with Christmas lights to new displays around downtown, there are plenty of magical spots for family photos, Christmas cards, or a quick selfie for Instagram.
Here are some of the best places to capture the season this year, all for free!
1. Bechants

194 S Main St
Bechants has turned its front courtyard and parking area into one of Boerne’s most impressive holiday displays, complete with a beautifully lit tree and elegant decor. Inside, the two-story luxury department store is just as festive, making it the perfect stop for both photos and holiday shopping.
2. City Hall

447 N Main St
City Hall’s front lawn transforms into a glowing holiday backdrop each year, featuring a large illuminated circle that we jokingly call the Christmas portal. Stand in the center for a perfectly framed shot with City Hall sparkling behind you.
3. Frosted Jack Selfie Spot

421 S Main St
The returning Christmas-themed pop-up tavern has a dedicated selfie spot out front complete with a bench and holiday backdrop. Snap a photo, then step inside for a festive cocktail and soak in the cozy pop-up decor.
4. Main Plaza Christmas Tree

100 N Main St
The iconic tree at Main Plaza is a must for holiday photos. It’s lit for the season during Dickens on Main and remains one of the town’s most classic and recognizable Christmas scenes.
5. Olde Town Boerne Letters and Tree

233 S Main St
New in 2025, Olde Town now features giant BOERNE letters paired with a tall, glowing Christmas tree. It’s located near Texas Treasures Frame Shop and Of a Muse Boutique and has quickly become one of the most popular photo stops in town.
6. Wild Bill Hickock Sculpture

100 N Main St
The life-size bronze of Wild Bill Hickock on the bench near Main Plaza is always a favorite, and this year he’s sporting a Santa hat and beard for the holidays (as of the time we wrote this). The sculpture was installed by Johny Rosa of Texas Treasures Co. (who is responsible for a ton of other bronzes around town) back in 2017 and created by bronze artist Erik Christianson, and quickly became on of the most iconic photo spots in town.
7. Texas Gourmet Pantry

233 S Main St
Also in Olde Town, this spot has a nice Christmas backdrop framed in for the perfect photo opp. While you’re there, walk into Texas Gourmet Pantry and find some Christmas presents!
It’s been said over and over: being in Boerne during December is like being in a Hallmark Christmas Movie. And these spots listed above help prove it. What’s your favorite spot? Have one we should add? Let us know in the comments.
