George Strait Raises $6.25 Million for Flood Relief in Boerne Concert

Garth Brooks makes surprise guest appearance

Sunday night in Boerne was one for the books.

At a private event hosted at Estancia at Thunder Valley, George Strait’s “Strait to the Heart” flood relief concert brought together fans, musicians, and big hearts—ultimately raising more than $6.25 million for families impacted by the devastating Fourth of July flooding across the Texas Hill Country.

It was a great night, with Garth Brooks surprising the crowd and walking out on stage unannounced to join George Strait for a rendition of “The Fireman,” electrifying the already emotional crowd of 1,200 attendees.

Other highlights included:

  • “Give It Away” performed with Jamey Johnson
  • Dean Dillon and son Bubba Strait on “Here for a Good Time” (check out the video of this below!)
  • Beloved Strait hits like “All My Exes,” “The Chair,” and “Amarillo by Morning”

The star-studded lineup also featured Riley Green, Randy Houser, William Beckmann, Wade Bowen, Ray Benson, Kyle Park, Hudson Westbrook, and more. San Antonio author and pastor Max Lucado opened the evening with a message of hope and unity.

Guests paid a minimum of $1,000 per ticket, with all proceeds going directly to long-term flood recovery efforts through the 501(c)(3) Vaqueros del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund. The intimate concert proved once again that when Texans are in need, Texans show up—with music, heart, and a deep commitment to their neighbors.

You can still make donations to the fund here.
