Art AfterHours – Coil Basket explores a traditional Native American basket-making technique that uses stitching to fasten and interlock coils into strong, repeating geometric forms. Participants will learn how this historic method creates both structure and pattern while experimenting with contemporary approaches that incorporate recycled materials and sculptural elements. The result is a functional and visually engaging piece that highlights positive and negative space.

This workshop will take place on July 28 from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Hill Country Council for the Arts, located at 102 City Park Rd., Boerne, TX 78006. Admission is $35 and includes instruction and materials. The class is well suited for beginners as well as artists interested in fiber arts, traditional craft techniques, and modern design applications.
