Art AfterHours – Polymer Clay Canes explores advanced techniques in polymer clay, focusing on the creation of colorful patterned canes used as the foundation for more complex designs. Participants will learn how to construct canes such as bullseye, graduated, and floral patterns by layering multiple colors of clay, including the use of metallics and foils for added emphasis. These techniques form the building blocks for designs often seen in mosaics, kaleidoscopes, and decorative clay work.

The class will take place on April 14 from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Hill Country Council for the Arts, located at 102 City Park Rd., Boerne, TX 78006. The cost to attend is $35 and includes guided instruction throughout the session. This workshop is designed as part one of a two-part series, though it can be taken independently. Participants who continue to the following class will have the opportunity to combine their canes into slabs or tiles for jewelry and embellishment projects.
