Home cooks and chili enthusiasts will gather for a flavorful afternoon at the Chili Cook-Off on March 7, 2026, with turn-in scheduled for 2 pm at Waring Hall, #11 Waring Road, Waring, TX 78074. The event supports the Waring Volunteer Fire Department, with proceeds helping fund training and essential supplies.

Participants can enter their best recipe for a $25 entry fee, while attendees can enjoy prize drawings and a 50/50 drawing as part of the festivities. The cook-off is organized by the Friends of Waring VFD, a self-sponsored group dedicated to supporting the department, and donations are welcomed during the event.
