Explore Bow Hunting at Honey Creek State Natural Area

Discover archery and bowhunting at Explore Bow Hunting, a family-friendly workshop presented by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Community Archery Program on Saturday, October 24. Hosted at Honey Creek State Natural Area, adjacent to Guadalupe River State Park, the event welcomes all ages and experience levels, whether participants are new to archery, curious about bowhunting, or interested in improving their skills.

Activities include an interactive archery trailer, 3D target shooting, animal processing demonstrations, cooking conversations, gear displays, youth simulations, and more. Equipment is provided, so participants do not need to bring their own gear.

The event runs from 10 am to 2 pm CDT. Admission is free with park entry, which costs $7 for adults; children 12 and under enter free.

The program takes place at Honey Creek State Natural Area, 26226 State Highway 46 W, Spring Branch, TX 78070. Visitors must obtain an entry permit for Guadalupe River State Park before arriving. Permits can be obtained at the park headquarters on the day of the event or purchased in advance through Texas State Parks Reservations. Visitors should print their permit or have it available on a mobile device. Purchasing online in advance is recommended.

Please use caution when turning off Highway 46 into the property. For ADA accommodations, submit a request through the accessibility request form or email accessibility@tpwd.texas.gov at least two weeks in advance. Park programs are subject to change or cancellation due to inclement weather.
