The City of Boerne Urban and Community Forestry Program will host a Free Tree Giveaway on Friday, March 6, beginning at 10 am and continuing until 1 pm, or while supplies last. The event will take place in the green space between Boerne City Hall and the Patrick Heath Public Library in Boerne, TX.

A total of 150 trees will be distributed to current City of Boerne residents and Boerne Utilities customers, limited to one tree per person. To receive a tree, participants must present a current City of Boerne utility bill. Trees will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and no reservations for specific species are required. Organizers anticipate that supplies may be gone before lunchtime.

Trees are offered in 3-gallon containers and include a mix of large overstory and shade-tolerant understory species such as Cedar Elm, Bald Cypress, Chickasaw Plum, Eastern Redbud, Bur Oak, Cottonwood, Roughleaf Dogwood, Anacua, Rusty Blackhaw, and Box Elder.
