Everyday childhood artwork takes on new life during this mixed media collage workshop that transforms treasured drawings and school projects into a polished, display-worthy art piece. Guided by artist Julie Jarvis, participants will learn how to thoughtfully arrange children’s or grandchildren’s artwork into a cohesive large-scale collage while exploring a variety of creative layering and composition techniques. Personalized instruction and one-on-one guidance are woven throughout the experience to help each piece reflect both personality and artistic balance.

The workshop will take place on January 30, 2026, from 6 pm to 8 pm at The Downtown DIY, located at 206 West Highland Drive, Boerne, TX 78006. Participants are encouraged to bring a selection of children’s artwork, as these pieces form the heart of the final design. To elevate the finished work, guests will also experiment with fine-art embellishments such as texture paste, metal leaf, and other mixed media elements. Each attendee will leave with a completed 24 x 36 collage ready to hang at home.
