Guided Bird Walk at Honey Creek Ranch at Guadalupe River State Park

Bird enthusiasts can explore prime migration habitat during the Guided Bird Walk at Honey Creek Ranch, offered on March 15, March 29, April 12, April 19, April 26, May 3, May 17, and June 21 from 9 am to 10:30 am at Guadalupe River State Park in Spring Branch, TX. Led by State Natural Area Superintendent Gilbert, the program provides a unique opportunity to visit Honey Creek Ranch and observe the diverse bird species that pass through the area during migration season.

The guided walk covers approximately two miles of level terrain and is suitable for both experienced birders and those new to birdwatching. Participants will explore natural habitats while learning about the region’s bird populations and the surrounding ecosystem.

The program is recommended for ages 10 and older. Dogs are not permitted, except for service animals. Participants should arrive at Honey Creek Ranch at 8:50 am, with directions and a map provided by email three days before the event to those who register. Guests are encouraged to bring sturdy footwear, water, sun protection, and binoculars. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow.

Admission is free with park entry. Park admission is $7 for adults, and children 12 and under enter free. Visitors must check in at park headquarters at Guadalupe River State Park, 3350 Park Road 31, Spring Branch, TX, to obtain an entry permit or make a day-use reservation online at texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com.

Registration is required for the program. If ADA assistance is needed, requests should be submitted at least two weeks in advance by emailing accessibility@tpwd.texas.gov. Park programs may be subject to change or cancellation due to inclement weather.
