Create a spooky seasonal centerpiece during the Haunted Dollhouse workshop on Saturday, September 19, from 10 am to 2 pm at The Downtown DIY.

Starting with an unfinished two-story wooden dollhouse, participants will transform their project into a unique Halloween decoration using paint, decorative papers, aging techniques, architectural details, and other embellishments. Designs can range from eerie and aged to colorful and whimsical, with plenty of room for personal creativity.

This four-hour, all-inclusive workshop provides the wooden dollhouse, tools and supplies, materials and embellishments, creative resources, studio assistance, monster munchies, and door prizes. No miniature-building or advanced crafting experience is required, and Studio Assistants will be available throughout the workshop to offer guidance with techniques, materials, and ideas.

Finished dollhouses can be displayed on mantels, entry tables, bookshelves, buffets, or as part of a larger Halloween vignette. The Downtown DIY will also provide resources for miniature furniture, blogs, and videos for participants interested in continuing their miniature-building projects.

Participants who need additional time can attend September’s Finish Line session on Sunday, September 27, beginning at 2 pm. A coupon for free participation will be provided by email.
