Honey Creek Guided Walk at Guadalupe River State Park

Visitors can explore one of Texas’ most pristine waterways during the Honey Creek Guided Walk, held every Saturday through October 31, 2026, from 8:30 am to 11 am at Guadalupe River State Park, 3350 Park Road 31, Spring Branch, TX 78070. Sponsored by the Friends of Guadalupe River State Park and Honey Creek State Natural Area, the program features certified guides who lead participants on an interpretive walk through the area’s unique natural landscape.
The guided hike covers approximately two miles and is considered moderately difficult. Much of the trail is flat, though it includes some rocky terrain, slopes, and two short but steep hills. The walk typically lasts about two and a half hours, with frequent stops to discuss local flora, fauna, geology, and the cultural history of the region.
The program is recommended for ages 7 and older. Dogs are not permitted, except for service animals. Participants will meet outside the Rust House within Guadalupe River State Park and are encouraged to wear sturdy footwear and bring water and sun protection.
Registration is required and may be completed at https://fs18.formsite.com/TPWD/tntfhrb0ko/index. If ADA assistance is needed, requests should be submitted at least two weeks in advance by emailing accessibility@tpwd.texas.gov. Park programs may be subject to change or cancellation due to inclement weather.
