Guests can enjoy a magical evening exploring the glowing world of Texas fireflies during Luminous Landscapes: Fireflies in the Heart of Texas, happening Friday, May 23, 2025, from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Cibolo Nature Center, 140 City Park Rd, Boerne, TX 78006.

Led by Ben Pfeiffer, founder of Firefly Conservation & Research, this immersive event features a fascinating presentation about the diverse firefly species found throughout Texas and across the U.S. Following the talk, participants will take a guided walk along Cibolo Creek to identify and observe fireflies in their natural habitat. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about flash patterns, mating behaviors, and conservation challenges affecting firefly populations.

This hands-on experience is ideal for both kids and adults. Attendees are encouraged to bring a net for catching and releasing fireflies. The event will also include information on how to create firefly-friendly habitats and support local conservation efforts.
