Birders of all levels are invited to the Prairie Bird Review, a free class offered by the Cibolo Center for Conservation on Saturday, December 13, from 9 am to 12 pm. This engaging program is designed to help participants confidently identify the “little brown birds” commonly seen during winter prairie walks.

Led by experienced birding guides and Texas Master Naturalists Tom and Patsy Inglet, the session includes two hours of instruction followed by one hour of guided field practice. Attendees will learn how to observe more effectively, what key features to look for, and how to prepare for birding in the field. This workshop is also a great opportunity for those interested in volunteering for upcoming Winter Prairie Bird Surveys.

The class will be held at the Cibolo Nature Center Auditorium, located at 140 City Park Rd, Boerne, TX 78006.

Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars and a bird field guide. A limited number of loaner supplies will be available. Dress for the weather and for walking—wear long pants, dull colors, sturdy shoes, and a hat. Layers, gloves, and rain gear may also be helpful depending on conditions.
