Families can dive into an ocean adventure during Shark Weekend at the Science Mill in Johnson City. This “jaw-some” experience invites visitors to discover the fascinating world of sharks through interactive activities, live demonstrations, and hands-on workshops.

Kids and adults alike can explore how sharks see, hunt, and survive in the deep sea. Guests will have a chance to mimic shark vision in the See Like a Shark activity, test their hunting skills using a specialized tool in Electric Snack Attack, and design their own toothy predator in the Chomp Challenge.

A highlight of the weekend is the hands-on dogfish shark dissection workshop on Saturday, July 12, where participants ages 8–17 can investigate shark anatomy with a Science Mill Education Specialist. Spots are limited and an additional fee applies. Caregivers are welcome to observe.

Shark expert Matt “The Shark Guy” Marchant will also be on-site Saturday to share his passion for shark conservation and answer curious questions.
