Sourdough Workshop at Herff Farm

Discover the history, science, and craft of traditional breadmaking during the Sourdough Workshop at Herff Farm on Thursday, July 16, from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. Led by Andrea Bohn, this hands-on class explores the complete sourdough process, from understanding fermentation and mixing dough to kneading and shaping a loaf. Participants will also learn how fermented foods such as sourdough can support digestion and gut health, offering a deeper appreciation for the connection between traditional baking practices and overall wellness.

Designed for both beginners and experienced bakers, the workshop provides practical instruction in a welcoming environment where participants can build confidence in creating homemade sourdough. Each attendee will receive a take-home kit that includes a mixing bowl, Dutch whisk, wooden spoon, kitchen towel, an established sourdough starter, and a loaf in progress to continue baking at home.

The workshop takes place at Herff Farm, 33 Herff Rd., Boerne, TX 78006. Additional workshop dates are scheduled for October 22 and November 19, 2026.
