On Friday June 21 at 8:22 PM, Champion Charger Elizabeth Leachman will compete in the women’s 5,000 meter race at the US Olympic Trials for a spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics. And you can watch it live on NBC (you can stream on Peacock).

After qualifying for the trials, Leachman secured second place in the mile at the Nike Outdoor Nationals, held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. She clocked a time of 4:44.06, marking a new personal best. This impressive performance shattered her previous record by over four seconds, highlighting her growth and potential as a standout athlete for the Chargers.

The 5,000 meter is her best race. That said, Leachman will need to finish in the top three to earn a spot on the national team and compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The preliminaries are scheduled for 8:22 p.m. on June 21 and will be aired across NBC, USA and Peacock. We’d recommend checking in around 8 p.m. to make things don’t kick off early.
