Where to Get Lunch in Boerne

Wondering where to eat lunch in Boerne? Everyone has their opinions, but here are my favorite Boerne lunch spots.

Featured Sponsor: 28 Songs Brewhouse + Kitchen

Location: 110 Market Ave

If you’re looking for a great lunch spot in Boerne, 28 Songs Brewhouse + Kitchen should be at the top of your list. This veteran-owned brewpub is known for having the most in-house brewed beers of any brewery in the area, but the food is just as impressive—especially if you’re stopping by for lunch.

Open for lunch Tuesday through Sunday starting at 11 am, 28 Songs serves up a menu packed with burgers, wings, pizza, and more—perfect for a casual midday meal. Whether you’re grabbing a bite with the family, catching up with friends over beers, or watching the game on their wall of TVs, this spot delivers great food and a welcoming atmosphere.

And now, they are offering a whole slate of $7.95 specials Tuesday – Friday!

We also love the Hill Country Totchos (which is on our list of top foods in Boerne) and the wings! Head out for a weekend lunch and let them know The Boerne Life sent you!

Shooters Cantina at Joshua Creek Ranch

Location: 132 Cravey Road, Boerne

If you haven’t been out to Joshua Creek Ranch for lunch, now’s your chance — Shooters Cantina is officially open for the season and will stay open through the summer months. Set against a stunning Hill Country backdrop, it’s a great spot for a casual bite, whether you’re just looking to grab lunch or want to make a scenic afternoon of it. You’ll find chef-prepared comfort food like brisket nachos, shrimp tacos, burgers, salads, and more — all served poolside with full bar service. No reservations needed.

We tried the brisket nachos recently during a Chamber of Commerce event and were blown away… so much so, we’re already planning a return trip. The drive out there alone makes it feel like a mini getaway, with winding roads, creek views, and plenty of wildlife. Shooters Cantina is open Thursday 11–3, Friday and Saturday 11–7, and Sunday 11–3.

Epicure

Location: 210 S Main

Hands down, this is the best sandwich shop in Boerne. Literally every sandwich on the menu is top-notch, but if I had to pick just one, the Ciao Italia is the standout. A few things to note:

There’s no inside seating, so if you plan to eat there, go on a nice day and grab a seat on their beautiful patio.
They get busy during lunch, so if you’re in a hurry, call in your order ahead of time.

Klein Smokehaus

Location: 342 N. Main Street

If you’re looking for one of the best lunch deals in town, this is it. The chopped beef sandwich is loaded with tender, smoky brisket, making it one of the best bang-for-your-buck lunches around. It’s so generously portioned that I even share it with my son sometimes!

Here’s something we just learned – on Tuesdays you can get that exact sandwich, along with chips and a small drink, for only SEVEN DOLLARS. Seriously, what a deal!

Oh, and do yourself a favor and buy some bacon while you’re there.

Hamby’s

Location: 437 S. Main Street

This vintage walk-up burger joint is fast food done right. Think smash burgers, corn dogs, crispy fries, and ice-cold beer—all served up with a side of nostalgia. Plus, if you have a few extra minutes on your lunch break, step inside and play a few rounds of pinball or arcade games. It’s a fun, casual spot that never disappoints.

Compadres Hill Country Cocina

Location: 209 Lohmann Street

This isn’t your typical BBQ joint. Compadres is a unique fusion of BBQ and Mexican flavors, and the result is ridiculously good. The catch? They open for lunch and close when they sell out, so get there early if you want to snag some of the best brisket, barbacoa, and smoked meats in town.

Dodging Duck

Location: 402 River Rd

Dodging Duck is our go-to spot when we don’t want to think too hard about where to eat. Everything on the menu is solid, the patio overlooks Cibolo Creek, and there’s a great selection of craft beer brewed in-house.

Mrs. Boerne Life swears by the Artichoke Panini on the lunch menu. I usually go for the Brewhouse Burger or, if I’m cutting carbs, the chopped plate with a side of veggies.

Lung Fung

Location: 1004 N. Main Street

This was the first place I ever ate lunch when I moved to Boerne, and it’s still one of my favorites. What makes it great? It’s a Chinese buffet! Load up on lo mein, General Tso’s chicken, and egg rolls, but be warned—this is the kind of lunch that might require a post-meal nap.

Cibolo Creek Brewing Company

Location: 448 S. Main Street

Another great option, Cibolo Creek Brewing offers a lighter lunch special that I really like. You pick one small entrée (like a fish taco or chicken salad slider) and one side (fries or salad), and it comes with a glass of tea.

My go-to? A fish taco with a house salad and tea. But if it’s a Friday, I might upgrade the tea to a beer—because, hey, weekend mode.
