Founder Girls Documentary Screening at Patrick Heath Public Library

Experience a powerful look into the history and legacy of Camp Founder Girls, the first summer camp for Black girls in the United States, during a special screening on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 1 pm.
This documentary, directed by Contessa Gayles, reflects on the camp’s 100-year anniversary and its enduring impact from its founding in San Antonio, Texas, in 1924, to its present-day legacy.
A discussion will follow the screening, offering an opportunity to learn more and connect with the history shared.
