Cibolo Nature Center Homeschool Program
The Cibolo Nature Center offers 10-week homeschool sessions for children ages 5–12. Classes alternate between the Cibolo Nature Center and Herff Farm, giving students hands-on experiences in both natural science and agriculture.
Parents or guardians are required to attend each class with their children.

Ms. Sues Homeschool Studio
This weekly class invites kids with all skill levels. We challenge the kids to think, “What if?” Experimentation is emphasized which helps kids gain important creative skills and confidence. They learn principles in composition, form and color as well as drawing and painting techniques. They will complete some sculptural and multimedia pieces as well. St. John Lutheran Homeschool Bridge
Beginning in Fall 2026, St. John Lutheran School is launching its Homeschool Bridge Program. Students will attend every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and participate in Art, PE, Music, and Bible-based learning.

New to Homeschooling in Texas?
If you’re considering homeschooling for the first time, Texas gives families considerable flexibility. The Texas Education Agency does not regulate, monitor, approve, register, or accredit homeschool programs. Texas courts have also established that homeschooled students are exempt from compulsory attendance requirements to the same extent as students enrolled in private schools.
If your child is currently enrolled in public school, you’ll need to formally withdraw them. According to the Texas Education Agency, written notice is sufficient, and parents do not have to appear in person or present their homeschool curriculum to the school for review. Homeschool instruction must be conducted in a bona fide manner using a written curriculum that includes reading, spelling, grammar, mathematics, and good citizenship.
Families with older students may also want to familiarize themselves with graduation, transcripts, college admissions, and what happens if a homeschooled student later enrolls in public school. The State of Texas does not award diplomas to homeschooled students, but Texas considers successful completion of a homeschool education equivalent to graduation from a public high school for purposes of admission standards at Texas institutions of higher education.
