Dollar Tree Returns to Boerne to Further Revitalize Northside Shopping Center

Dollar Tree is bringing its budget-friendly shopping options back to Boerne. After closing its previous location earlier this year, much to the chagrin of many locals, the store is set to reopen in a new space within the Live Oak Shopping Center at 1024 N. Main St.

According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Dollar Tree will occupy a 10,471-square-foot space in the shopping center. Renovations are scheduled to begin in March 2025, with the store expected to open by mid-May.

While South Main Street has exploded in growth in recent years, the northern portion of Main has come along at a much slower pace. The Live Oak shopping center, which used to be home to a small town grocery store, has lost many businesses over the years, such as Duke’s Bar, Broken Stone Pizza, Athletic Republic, and more.

The strip center has remained half empty for quite some time, but does house some local favorites like Lung Fung Chinese restaurant. Businesses have been moving in as of late, such as Mi Pueblo Panaderia, and with Dollar Tree on the way, perhaps the center will continue to fill out.

The northern portion of Main Street has seen more growth surrounding the shopping center in the last few years, such as The Rocker Taqueria and Bakery and 28 Songs Brewhouse & Kitchen further up the road.

With its selection of household goods, food, and apparel—most priced at $1.25—Dollar Tree is poised to bring new energy and foot traffic to North Main Street. The reopening offers a convenient and affordable option for Boerne residents while also signaling a renewed investment in the city’s business landscape.

Will the Live Oak Shopping Center continue to fill with new tenants? Will Dollar Tree play a pivotal role in its transformation, helping to attract more shoppers and additional businesses to the area? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
