Art AfterHours – Wood Veneer Marquetry at Hill Country Council for the Arts

Art AfterHours – Wood Veneer Marquetry introduces participants to the traditional decorative art of marquetry, where designs are carefully cut from wood veneer and applied to a supporting surface. This two-part workshop explores both classic and modern approaches to working with veneer as participants craft a custom motif using a variety of wood types. The first session focuses on design planning and precision cutting, while the second session brings the piece together through assembly, gluing, coloring, and finishing techniques.
This two-part series will take place on September 15 and September 22 from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Hill Country Council for the Arts, located at 102 City Park Rd., Boerne, TX 78006. Admission for the full series is $70 and includes instruction and materials. The workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced artists interested in fine craftsmanship, surface design, and traditional woodworking arts.
