Paws and Paths: Exploring the Bauer Unit at Guadalupe River State Park

Dog lovers and their four-legged companions are invited to explore the trails during Paws and Paths: Exploring the Bauer Unit on March 22, April 19, and December 18 from 9 am to 10:30 am at the Bauer Unit of Guadalupe River State Park in Spring Branch, TX. This guided walk offers a chance to enjoy the outdoors while discovering the natural beauty of the area with your pup.

The approximately two-mile walk will lead participants along the Bauer Unit trails, where guides will share insights about the surrounding landscape and wildlife. The program is designed to be a relaxed and enjoyable outing where dogs and their owners can experience nature together.

Participants should meet at the Bauer Unit parking lot at 8:45 am, with the walk beginning promptly at 9 am. Dogs must be friendly, remain on a leash no longer than six feet, and spaces are limited to ten dogs per walk. Attendees are encouraged to wear outdoor attire and sturdy hiking shoes and bring water for both themselves and their pets, dog waste bags, and sun protection.

There are no restroom facilities or water fountains at the Bauer Unit, so participants should plan accordingly and pack out any items they bring. Admission is free with park entry. Park admission is $7 for adults, while children 12 and under enter free. Payment can be made with exact cash or a park pass at the self-pay station, or reservations can be made at texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com.

Registration is required and can be completed at https://tpwd.texas.gov/calendar/guadalupe-river/paws-and-paths-exploring-the-bauer-unit-registration-required. If ADA assistance is needed, requests should be submitted at least two weeks in advance by emailing accessibility@tpwd.texas.gov. Park programs may be subject to change or cancellation due to inclement weather.
