Why Old Places Matter Tour at Comfort Heritage Foundation

Step into the past during the Why Old Places Matter Tour on Saturday, April 11 from 11 am to 4 pm, hosted by the Comfort Heritage Foundation at 640 High Street, Comfort, TX.
This self-paced, docent-assisted tour invites guests to explore one of Texas’ most well-preserved historic districts. Participants can enjoy a mix of walkable and driveable stops, visiting historic homes, buildings, and sites that showcase remarkable architecture, craftsmanship, and the stories of Comfort’s early founders.
Designed for history buffs, architecture enthusiasts, and curious visitors alike, the tour offers a meaningful way to connect with the town’s cultural heritage. Guests are encouraged to make a day—or even a weekend—of it by exploring local inns, restaurants, and wineries throughout Comfort.
On the day of the event, tickets can be exchanged for wristbands and tour booklets at the Comfort Heritage Foundation. The wristband grants access to all tour locations, which can be visited in any order.
General admission tickets are $35. Guests may also purchase a donated ticket, which will be provided to first responders, school administrators, and nonprofit volunteers. Online registration ends April 10, though tickets will still be available for purchase on the day of the event.
This all-ages event requires children under 12 to be accompanied by an adult. As a self-guided tour, participants assume responsibility for their safety while visiting the properties.
Proceeds support the Comfort Heritage Foundation, a volunteer-run organization dedicated to preserving the town’s historic structures, traditions, and cultural legacy. For more information, contact the Comfort Heritage Foundation directly.
