The Woodmont Company held an official groundbreaking ceremony on June 12 for a new development coming to 12 Herff Road.
Dubbed the Herff & River District, the project will feature two new restaurants from Chef Jacob Williamson, who trained under Wolfgang Puck. 12 Herff Steakhouse will offer an upgraded but approachable dining experience, while Meet Me Outside will be a more casual spot with shareable plates and scratch-made cocktails.
Both restaurants will focus on creative, locally sourced, and sustainable food, and the team is already building partnerships with area farms and ranches.
Also planned for the site: a Kiddie Academy early learning center. Later phases will bring retail space to the property as well.
The development will preserve some of the area’s charm, keeping the original house, turning the old well house into a bar, and building around existing trees, fencing, and vines.
A coffee concept was also in the works but was dropped after the city denied approval for a drive-thru.
No construction has started yet, but we got a peek inside the building as it stands today—and you can see that below.
