There are a lot of exciting small businesses on the horizon in Boerne and the surrounding area. It feels like we’re getting tips almost daily for new spots to eat, shop, and enjoy various hobbies. With that in mind, here’s a look at seven that should be opening before you know it!
1. Pizza Volterra (Downtown Boerne)

Authentic Roman pizza is rolling into The Oak of Boerne’s parking lot at 605 S Main St. The new Pizza Volterra trailer is set to start serving on September 12, with dining on the terrazza or to-go ordering. A soft opening may happen ahead of the official launch; keep an eye on their channels for updates. Learn more about them here.
2. The Model Box: Hobby Shop & Social Club (Boerne)

1022 N Main St
A new experiential hobby shop from Stan and Gerri Spooner is bringing plastic model kits (aircraft, armor, cars, ships, sci-fi/Gundam, gaming) plus paints, tools, weathering supplies, books, and magazines. Expect live and webcast tutorials from top modelers, a front-of-shop build-and-paint area, and an emphasis on community. They’re targeting an October opening in the spot that used to house the popular Broken Stone Pizza.
3. Heroes Hideout (Boerne)

1026 N Main St, to the right of Dollar Tree
A new local game and trading card store is under renovation now. Follow their updates for opening details and product lines as they build out the space.
4. O’Reilly Auto Parts (Boerne)

Live Oak Town Center, North Main
A second O’Reilly is coming to the former Duke’s Bar spot on the northern end of Main. The project is moving forward and the team is working toward opening. When it’s finished, it will add convenient parts retail on the north side to complement the existing south-side location.
5. Foundry Hill Country (Boerne)

608 E Blanco Rd (next to Mary’s Tacos)
A new destination for antiques, dried florals, vintage finds, and small events is taking shape in the former Casa Amaya space. The owners also have one light-filled 13×15 room for rent—an opportunity for a vintage, design, craft, jewelry, or art business to plug into the concept. Learn more here.
6. Jersey Mike’s (Fair Oaks Ranch – Lemon Creek Ranch)

Building F1 at Lemon Creek Ranch, across from H-E-B
The latest site plan update adds Jersey Mike’s to the tenant mix at Lemon Creek Ranch. More details will follow as the build-out progresses. Jersey Mike’s joins Chase Bank, Mable Slab, and Pacific Dental Services in the strip center.
7. Both Hands Burger Bar (Comfort)

713 High St, Comfort
From the team behind The Rill/Rivulet era comes a casual, full-bar burger concept in the old Comfort post office building next to Hotel Giles. Hiring is underway and the opening is slated for September 10. Expect a lively spot with a straightforward menu and a historic-downtown setting. Beer and cocktails as well.
