For years, Kiss the Cook was one of Boerne’s most beloved places to learn new kitchen tricks. Their cooking classes were equal parts educational and entertaining, filled with good food, good company, and wine. But like so many things, they came to an abrupt halt during COVID.
Now, owner Hayley is testing the waters to see if it’s time to bring them back.
Presented by Indulge Wine Bar

This story is brought to you by one of our newest partners, Indulge Wine Bar, where fine wine meets inspired design. Located on the east side of town, Indulge offers an elevated dining experience with tapas, craft cocktails, and an atmosphere that blends seamlessly into their sister business, Finishing Touches — a design showroom filled with beautiful home décor.

“We’ve had so many people ask us to restart the classes,” she said. “We’re having a soft launch to see if it makes sense again.”
The first test run will be October 30th and is a Knife Skills Class led by a rep from Wüsthof, one of the most respected names in German cutlery. The hands-on session focuses on the basics of knife techniques, better understanding your knives, and preparing a dish. Every attendee gets a Wüsthof apron, and one lucky participant from each class will win a pair of shears, about a one-in-ten chance to take home a prize.
There are actually two classes this round, one for adults and one for families. The Family Class will focus on making a fruit salad together, while the Adult Knife Skills Class centers on a salsa-making demo.
“We used to do evening classes with wine,” Hayley said, “but this time we’re testing out daytime sessions. Something fun for moms or anyone who wants to do something creative in the afternoon.”
If this soft launch goes well, more classes could follow.
If you haven’t been to Kiss the Cook, it’s like a small-town version of William Sonoma, but with its own Hill Country flair. From cookware and kitchenware to coffee and cookie cutters, this family- and woman-owned shop has everything you need to level up your cooking game.
