The Boerne boys showed grit and determination as they fell to Florida in a dramatic US Championship game in the Little League World Series. The final score was 7-10.

Boerne dominated the first half of the game, with a missed fly ball to left field putting them up 4-0 at the bottom of the 3rd inning.

However, they ran into trouble at the top of the 4th, as Florida was able to drive a single run in. Luckily the pitcher, Julian Hurst, was able to reset and escape the inning without any more damage.

The 5th inning proved even more tough, as Florida scored 4 runs in a row to take the lead. Hurst’s shoulder started giving him trouble, and Boerne was forced to change pitchers. Then a hard hit up the middle took reliever Doc Mogford down with a leg injury, causing Boerne to switch pitchers again.

But Boerne fought back. Their bats came back alive in the bottom of the 5th, and a walk loaded the bases with 2 outs. This led to a hit up the middle by Gray Collins to tie the game. Then a wild pitch allowed another runner to come home and put Boerne back on top.

Florida continued to struggle, as Boerne was able to run the score up to 7-5 by the end of the inning.

Due to another injury, Boerne was forced to change pitchers to Caleb Christ in the final inning. Florida fought back, regaining the lead with a impressive 5 run streak. Unfortunately, Boerne couldn’t come back and was held scoreless in the bottom of the 6th.
