Boerne Football Head Coach Hired by University of Arkansas

Boerne High School is bidding farewell to its head football coach, Che Hendrix, as he takes on an exciting new role with the University of Arkansas.

Under Coach Hendrix’s leadership, the Greyhounds flourished, finishing last season with an impressive 11-4 record and a trip to the Class 5A Division II state semifinals in their first season as a 5A team. Over his seven years at Boerne, Hendrix compiled a 71-19 record, claimed five district championships, and led the team to the 2022 Class 4A Division I state championship game.

Hendrix’s impact extends beyond his coaching accomplishments. He guided all three of his sons through standout careers with the Greyhounds. Hank, the team’s starting quarterback and a junior next season, holds multiple Power Five offers, including one from Arkansas. Hutson, a senior linebacker, will join Arkansas as a preferred walk-on, while Houston, a 2023 graduate, is with the Air Force.

Boerne ISD Athletic Director Stan Leech expressed his gratitude in a social media post below:

Coach Hendrix departs with a career coaching record of 101-62 and leaves behind a program brimming with potential. The search for the next head coach and athletic coordinator is underway as Boerne looks to build on the success of Hendrix’s tenure.
