The Complete Guide to Breweries in Boerne, TX

If you like craft beer, then Boerne is about as good a Texas town as you could possibly live in. Over the last 10 years, breweries have popped up all over the place, making Boerne a craft beer destination in the Texas Hill Country.

At the time of writing this article, we have six breweries within about two miles of one another. Four of those breweries are directly off Main Street on the Hill Country Mile, and three of them are on the same block!

As someone who has gone to them all (many times), I thought it would be a good idea to put together the insider’s guide on breweries in Boerne, TX. Enjoy!

28 Songs Brewhouse and Kitchen

Location: 110 Market Ave, Boerne, TX 78006
Hours: Tues-Thurs 11 AM – 9 PM, Fri-Sat 11 AM – 10 PM, Sun 11 AM – 8 PM, Closed Mon

The veteran-owned 28 Songs Brewhouse + Kitchen is located on the northern, more industrial part of Main Street. With plenty of TVs to watch the game, they offer the most in-house brewed beers in town.

But 28 Songs isn’t just a brewery – they offer a great menu with crowd-pleasing food for everyone in your family, including some really affordable lunch specials.

If you’re into sports and craft beer, this is your spot for catching the latest game while enjoying a cold one.

Cibolo Creek Brewing Co.

Location: 448 S Main St, Boerne, TX 78006
Hours: Wed-Mon 11 AM – 9 PM, Closed Tues

Located right on Main Street, Cibolo Creek Brewing Co. opened in 2016 and really sparked Boerne’s craft beer revolution. Known for its family brewery meets local pub vibe, this family-owned brewery serves up some great options like their Boerne Blonde and Creekside IPA. Their food might even be better than their beer (believe it or not) with items like the fried chicken sandwich, goat burger, and bier buns. It’s a great spot to enjoy a beer in the heart of the Hill Country.

And on Sundays, you can visit the newly added Offline BBQ walk-up stand behind the biergarten for brisket you can slice with a plastic knife, along with more elevated BBQ.

Dodging Duck Brewhaus

Location: 402 River Rd, Boerne, TX 78006
Hours: Sun-Thurs 11 AM – 9 PM, Fri-Sat 11 AM – 10 PM

Boerne’s original microbrewery, Dodging Duck, has been serving up excellent craft beer since 1992. Located across from the creek on River Road, it boasts a relaxing outdoor space perfect for soaking up some sun with a cold beer. Great for live jazz music on the weekend too! With rotating taps featuring local favorites like The Harvey Duckman and Pecan Brown Ale, Dodging Duck is a must-visit for any craft beer lover. People also love their foods, including soups.

Free Roam Brewing

Location: 325 S Main St, Boerne, TX 78006
Hours: Sun-Thurs 11 AM – 10:30 PM, Fri-Sat 11 AM- 11 PM

If you’re looking for a brewery that stays open late, Free Roam Brewing is your best bet. This kid and dog-friendly brewery features a spacious beer garden and some great food trucks like Imperfect Pies. Known for their standout west coast IPAs and flavorful light beers like Low Fence, Free Roam is the perfect spot to wind down after a long day.

And since it’s owned by a former MLB pitcher, as you’d expect, it’s a great place to watch a game. It’s also worth noting they have trivia every Tuesday night.

Hamby’s

Location: 430 S Main St, Boerne, TX 78006
Hours: Tues-Sat 11 AM – 9 PM, Sun 11 AM – 8 PM, Closed Mon

Literally across the street from Cibolo Creek, Hamby’s is its sister restaurant and brewery. This vintage burger joint serves up mouthwatering smash burgers alongside house-brewed beers like my favorite, Hamby’s Helles. The old-school arcade, complete with a bunch of pinball machines, adds a nostalgic touch to your experience and makes it very kid-friendly.

Visit for the food and the beer, stay for the pinball! Incidentally, this is my son’s favorite restaurant in Boerne because of the pinball and the corn dogs.

Tusculum Brewing Company

Location: 236 S Main St, Boerne, TX 78006
Hours: Thurs 12 PM-8 PM, Fri-Sat 12 PM-9 PM, Sun 12 PM-6 PM, Closed Mon-Wed

Nestled in the historic H.O. Adler building, Tusculum Brewing Company has a beer garden unlike any other—it’s set in an old lumberyard! With its spacious outdoor area, it’s a great place to enjoy Boerne’s weather while sipping on a cold brew. They also have a shuffleboard set up to keep you busy inside.

Tusculum offers a mix of craft beer and historic charm, making it a unique stop on your brewery tour. The only downside here is the hours are very limited compared to other breweries in town.
