We love cheeseburgers. And the good news is that there’s no shortage of great cheeseburgers here in Boerne. So with that in mind, here are several of them we’ve had in town that we love.
28 Songs Brewhouse + Kitchen

Location: 110 Market Ave
28 Songs Brewhouse recently took top honors for burgers in the Boerne Star’s “Best of the Best.” Here’s their double cheeseburger with two quarter pound smashed patties, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickle, American cheese, house-made garlic-mayo on a toasted bun.
Brantley’s 259 Bistro

Location: 259 S Main St
259 Brantley’s Bistro serves up some of the best food in town. Their cheeseburger has a twist: it’s a cabrito burger. It has bacon, provolone cheese, romaine lettuce, Marfa tomato, sweet red onion, and garlic aioli on a wheat sourdough bun.
Dodging Duck Brewhaus

Location: 402 River Rd
The original microbrewery in Boerne, Dodging Duck is also well known for their Brewhaus Burger. I prefer to get it on a jalapeno bun with pepper jack cheese for a little kick. They serve it open face with all the fixings off to the side, so you can customize it on the spot.
Hamby’s

Location: 437 S Main St
Hamby’s is the go-to vintage burger joint in town. I think of it almost as upscale fast food, and one of the most fun, kid-friendly spots in town. I always order the double, which is a smashburger made with Texas wagyu beef, lettuce, tomato, onion, American cheese, and Hamby’s sauce.
Longhorn Cafe

Location: 369 S Esser Rd
If you’re looking for a good old fashioned big cheeseburger, Longhorn Cafe is one of the best spots in town. Their “Original Big Juicy” is exactly what it sounds like. A big, no frills burger. Lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, your choice of cheese. It’s good and will leave you feeling very full.
Pinchy’s

Location: 250 River Rd
Here’s one you might not expect. Pinchy’s is a seafood spot, but their Smash Burger is pretty dang good. It has two patties, American cheese, pickles and “comeback sauce” on a brioche bun. Simple but tasty. And if you go in on Thursdays, they have a special burger deal. Last we went, the deal was a burger, fries, and a beer or margarita for $16.
Sunny’s

Location: 518 River Rd
Another spot you wouldn’t think cheeseburger is Sunny’s All Day Brunch & Bar. But while this newer spot is known for crepes and pancakes, they have a really good cheeseburger. Their Classic Burger is served on a prezel bun with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and a “special sauce.”
Boerne Is a Cheeseburger Town
One thing is for sure, Boerne has a lot of good food, and in particular, cheeseburgers. So many that we don’t have pictures of them all! There are others that didn’t make the roundup for that reason such as the cheeseburger at Hungry Horse (our go-to spot for a country-style lunch) and Sauced Wing Bar (known for wings, but everyone says you gotta try their burger). There’s also the Goldburger at Compadres Hill Country Cocina that’s a featured menu item from time to time that we haven’t had yet (we just missed it last week).
They’re on our list to go eat, but we simply haven’t gotten around to it since we started photographing all the food we eat.
Also worth noting, this guide is specifically for cheeseburgers. We left out some other great burgers in town, like the burger at Cibolo Creek Brewing and Black Board BBQ because they don’t come stock with cheese.
So what’s your favorite on this list? And what do you think we need to add? Let us know in the comments below!
Editor’s Note: found my Dodging Duck burger pics, so added it to the list!

Don’t forget Hungry Horse. They have an excellent cheeseburger.
Thank you for the good info, but l am extremely partial only to burgers flame grilled. You should have included which ones were flame grilled.
I agree with Longhorn and Sunny’s for a burger. However, I’d go to Wendy’s or even make the trek to FOR and grab a McDonald’s burger before any of the others. Just say’n.
Cypress Grille’s burger is the best in Boerne.
