A couple months ago, the search was on for an escaped monkey here in Boerne, but last week may have topped that story. A kangaroo was on the loose and disturbing traffic!

As reported on by Nextdoor member Ann Hines, a kangaroo was spotted on Ranger Creek Road at 7:45 am, Monday July 1st. This caused several cars to back up and move slowly.

Apparently the kangaroo is named Rufus and lives in the area. He snuck out the back gate to go explore. The good news is that Rufus is reported to have returned home safe and sound.

And some people think Boerne is a quiet, boring little town…
