Color and creativity will flow freely during the Acrylic Pour workshop with Julie Majek at Hill Country Council for the Arts. This hands-on class introduces participants to the art of fluid painting, a technique that involves pouring layers of acrylic paint onto canvas to create vibrant abstract designs.

The workshop will take place on June 13 from 10 am to 1 pm. Students will learn two different acrylic pour techniques and create two finished paintings during the session. The class also explores the history of fluid art, which traces back to the 1930s when muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros discovered the unique effects created by layered paint spills on canvas. Acrylic pour painting later gained worldwide popularity with the development of pouring mediums and the rise of social media art communities.

Admission is $85 for non-members and $75 for members. All experience levels are welcome.
