Families and first-time anglers can learn the basics of fishing during Fishing with a Ranger on Saturday, June 6, from 9 am to 11 am at Guadalupe River State Park. The drop-in program will take place at the kayak launch area in the park’s day-use section and offers a beginner-friendly introduction to fishing along the Guadalupe River.

Fishing poles will be available to borrow through the park’s free Tackle Loaner Program on a first-come, first-served basis, and bait will be provided while supplies last. Participants are also welcome to bring their own fishing equipment and bait.

Guests are encouraged to bring drinking water, sun protection, and the whole family for the morning program. Fishing licenses are not required for participants.
