While you won’t find much free food in town, you need to know that 28 Songs Brewhouse has some pretty crazy lunch specials.

The highlight of the lunch menu is their slate of $8.95 offerings. These all include an entree and a side (fries, tots, or side salad). The mains include a choice of chicken wings, chili cheese dog, kraut dog, chicken tenders, cheeseburger, pulled pork sandwich, chicken Caesar wrap, and more!

This is the most extensive menu of lunch specials we’ve found in Boerne so far!

Below, we’ve put together out top 10 free things to do in Boerne.

1. Take in local art throughout the city. There’s the Sculpture Stroll in downtown Boerne recently added by Texas Treasures Co., and the public art display organized by the City, Art Al Fresco, along the trails.

2. Visit one of our local nature parks. There’s the Cibolo Nature Center, the Boerne City Campus Natural Area behind the Library, Kreutzberg Canyon Natural Area, and more.

3. Play disc golf at Boerne Lake or Joshua Springs Park & Preserve. Joshua Springs is technically outside city limits, but it’s close!

4. Grab a free beer while you browse and Gunpowder & Cabernet or ask for a free Coke while you browse Flashback Funtiques.

5. Take a self-guided historical tour of downtown. There are hidden historical gems in plain sight, like the Fabra Smokehouse tucked back by Bechants, or the historic Theis House behind Flashback Funtiques. You can download a tour map here.

6. A world of FREE at the Patrick Heath Public Library. Workshops, kids programming, music, video games and more to check out. You never know what you’ll find going on.

7. Take the kids to one of our local playgrounds. Kinder Park is our favorite, but there are so many good ones around town.

8. Take a stroll down River Road Park and see the ducks and turtles. In fact, there are tons of great paved trails that connect the city.

9. Enjoy live music at one of the local venues. Bars like Brantley’s Beer Garden and Pure Country often have music outside, with other venues like Lost Oak Cellars, Valeria, and more having small acts inside. Salvador Dobbs is a local bar that is known for its weekend live music. And there are seasonal music events that are free at the library and Main Plaza.

10. Take a Hill Country Drive. The placement of our town affords us some great scenic drives all around us. Out to Tapatio Springs, past the lake, towards Sisterdale… just head to the hills!
