Local Business Spotlight: Meet the Mother–Daughter Team Behind Boerne Sips Nutrition

Some local businesses feel like they have always been part of Boerne. Boerne Sips Nutrition is one of those places, and its story explains why.

Owned by mother and daughter Cindy and Azteca Crawford, Boerne Sips Nutrition is tucked just off Main Street at 104 E Hosack. Today, it is known as a calm, welcoming hangout for teens, young adults, and anyone looking for a healthy pick-me-up. But the story of this spot goes back a few years before the current name.

The location originally opened as Boerne Nutrition, a place Azteca had been going to since it first opened. Later, the shop was purchased and rebranded as Native Blends, which operated there for about a year.

“My mom would take me and my sister before school everyday,” Azteca told us. “And I loved it so much that I ended up working there.”

Then one day, Azteca heard that the business was going up for sale, which lead to a conversation that changed everything.

“I told my mom it was up for sale, and we should buy it,” Azteca recalled. “And then everything kind of just fell into place!”

Not long after, Cindy and Azteca purchased the business and reintroduced it to the community as Boerne Sips Nutrition, bringing the space full circle in both name and spirit.

A Bigger Mission

From the beginning, Cindy and Azteca wanted the shop to be more than just a place to grab a drink. They brought back protein shakes, energy teas, and familiar favorites locals remembered from the early days, but what mattered most was how the space felt.

“Nothing makes me happier than seeing all the joyful faces that come through our doors, laughing, connecting, and building community together,” Cindy said. “That’s exactly what we dreamed this place would be, a space where everyone feels welcomed, loved, and at home.”

That feeling has especially resonated with teenagers. After school, groups often gather inside, sitting together, talking, and even putting their phones down.

It has quietly become a place where kids can hang out, parents feel comfortable, and conversations happen naturally.

Owning a business together has been especially meaningful for Cindy, who often reflects on how grateful she is for the opportunity.

“Wow, my heart is so full! I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity that God has blessed me with, to own a business alongside my daughter and share it with such a wonderful community here in Boerne.”

Faith plays a natural role in the culture of Boerne Sips through kindness, care, and the relationships built inside the shop. Cindy also shared how meaningful it has been to watch young adults gather there for Bible studies and worship, saying it reminds her why they do what they do.

Azteca feels that same sense of purpose in her day-to-day work.

“I love working here because I get to see Jesus through all of the customers and make amazing relationships with them! The environment is so amazing and The Lord is so present in this space!”

She also credits the all-female staff for helping create the welcoming atmosphere, saying they never fail to make her smile and laugh.

There is something special about a business that comes back to the people who loved it from the very beginning. For Cindy and Azteca, Boerne Sips Nutrition is more than a shop. It is a full-circle story built on family, faith, and community.

Whether someone stops in for a protein shake, an energy tea, or simply a place to sit and talk for a while, Boerne Sips Nutrition feels exactly like what they hoped it would be.

And for those wondering, Cindy’s favorite drink is the Cindy Crawford, while Azteca swears by The Azteca tea. Who would have guessed?
