We hear it all the time. “There’s nothing for teens to do in Boerne.” In fact, our own kid says it sometimes! So that got us to thinking… what is there to do for teenagers in Boerne? We started by posting about it on Facebook, and our followers gave us some pretty great ideas.
After that, we continued to dig, and the result? A list of 25 things for teens to do in Boerne. So here we go!
1. Boerne Sips Nutrition
There’s a new spot in town for healthy (and seriously tasty) drinks, and it’s quickly become a favorite hangout for teens. Boerne Sips Nutrition is now open in the former Native Blends location, freshly rebranded and run by mother–daughter duo Cindy and Azteca Crawford.
They’ve brought back the original Herbalife protein products locals loved, along with protein shakes, açaí bowls, and energy teas. It’s a quiet, calm space where you can often find teens hanging out, chatting, playing games, studying, and even playing the piano!

2. Boerne Lake – Always a hit for paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, disc golf or just hanging out by the water.
3. Cibolo Nature Center – Walk the trails, wade in the creek, or just chill under the trees. It’s peaceful, close by, and super photogenic.
4. Cave Without a Name – One of Boerne’s most underrated adventures. They even host live concerts underground.
5. Friday Night Lights – Boerne High and Champion games are the place to be in the fall. You’ll find everyone there. And it looks like there are playoffs in our future too!
6. Market Days & Other Festivals – Grab a lemonade, shop around, listen to music. Main Plaza events are always fun for all ages.
7. Christmas Lights & Seasonal Events – From Dickens on Main to Boerne Bright, there’s plenty of festive fun when the holidays hit.
8. Shopping on the Hill Country Mile – Stroll downtown, check out local boutiques, and grab a coffee or snack along the way. It’s one of the best spots to hang out with friends on weekends.
9. Thrifting Around Town – Hunt for vintage treasures and unique finds at local thrift shops. Perfect for anyone with a creative eye or a love for retro style. Also fits well into a teens budget!
10. Cruising Main Street – An old weekend tradition that’s still going strong.
11. Hamby’s – A Boerne classic. Burgers, fries, milkshakes, and now breakfast too. Vintage arcade with pinball.
12. Michoacán A Pedir de Boca – Ice cream, fruit cups, and aguas frescas and more. Very Instagrammable.
13. Bubble Tea Factory – Right across from Boerne High School. Bubble tea, teen-friendly snacks, and teen-friendly prices.
14. Sunny’s – Casual brunch or lunch with friends. Great for photos, good food, and a fun vibe. Very aesthetic and Instagrammable. We’ve heard of several teens having their birthday parties here.
15. Sonic – Park the car, get a snack or ice cream, and hang out.
16. Primetime Sports Cardz – A cool stop for sports fans and collectors. Hang out, talk sports, and rip packs.
17. Cooper’s Kingdom – Indoor black-lit mini-golf with a two-story arcade. Too scary for the littlest kids perhaps, but great for teens.
18. Gaming Stores & Card Nights – Local game shops like The Wolf Den Gaming on the south side of town often host D&D or Magic: The Gathering nights. And Heroes Hideout just opened on the north side of town next to Dollar Tree.
19. Boerne Community Theatre – Get involved in a play, help backstage, or catch a performance with friends.
20. Movies at The AMC – Right here in town and perfect for group outings or date nights.
21. Library Teen Programming – The Patrick Heath Public Library actually has cool stuff for teens: gaming sessions, clubs, volunteer hours, and book swaps.
22. Boerne Turn Verein – Open bowling on Saturday nights.
23. Youth Groups – Boerne’s churches have some of the most active youth programs in the Hill Country, with game nights, camps, and service trips. Our kid attends FBC’s youth group, for example.
24. Young Life Boerne – Weekly gatherings, small groups, and fun hangouts for local high schoolers.
25. Volunteer Opportunities – From helping at animal shelters to church camps and community events, there’s no shortage of ways to get involved.

Boerne Community Theatre has a very active Teen Troupe for ages 13-19. They produce a play and a musical each year, attend a youth drama conference with Theatre Network of Texas with workshops and performances, volunteer for several events during the year and have monthly meetings with programs.
