A new sign has gone up along Highway 46 across from Champion High School, and it’s more than just another commercial development. The team behind Fair Oaks Emergency Room has announced plans for a new Boerne Specialty Hospital, set to bring expanded healthcare services to the growing east side of town.
According to the organization, this new facility will offer far more than emergency care. The vision is a comprehensive medical campus designed to meet a broad range of health needs, all under one roof.
What’s Planned for the Boerne Specialty Hospital
While an official groundbreaking date has not yet been announced, the plan includes:
- 24/7 Emergency Room: Always-open ER care for local residents
- Advanced Radiology Suite: Featuring high-end imaging technology for diagnostics
- Onsite Laboratory: For fast, accurate test results to support treatment decisions
- Inpatient Rooms: Comfortable spaces for those requiring extended care
In addition to the hospital itself, plans include an ambulatory surgical center and outpatient medical offices, which will house various specialists. The layout is meant to foster collaboration across providers, while also keeping care convenient and centralized.
The design is also being approached with families in mind. Expect modern amenities, a calm and welcoming interior, and an emphasis on comfort.
“We are diligently working on finalizing the plans and will soon announce the groundbreaking date,” said Stacy Husted of the Fair Oaks Emergency Room team. “This milestone represents our commitment to advancing healthcare services and supporting the well-being of our community.”
Boerne’s Healthcare Footprint Is Growing
The announcement comes just weeks after a different emergency facility, Boerne ER, broke ground at Herff Road and Gallant Fox Lane. While the two are separate projects led by different groups, both signal a major investment in expanding healthcare access across Boerne.
With construction timelines still unfolding, residents can expect to see more updates and movement on the Boerne Specialty Hospital in the months ahead. One thing is certain: the future of medical care in Boerne is growing right alongside the town itself.
