Big changes are happening at 518 River Road. Last Friday, Rivulet Kitchen & Bar surprised locals with a sudden announcement on social media that it would be closing after the weekend. But the space isn’t staying empty for long.

While out for a run, we spotted a flurry of activity outside the building and stopped to chat—only to learn some exciting news straight from the new owner: a brand-new restaurant called Sunny’s: All-Day Brunch & Bar is coming soon. And they sent us the artist’s rendering of the new restaurant, which you can see at the beginning of this article.

The team behind Sunny’s will be familiar to some: Albi and his mother Mimi, owners of Albi’s Vite in Leon Springs and Boerne residents, are bringing their next concept right here to Boerne. The new eatery will feature a full all-day brunch menu, dinner service for the evening crowd, and crepes inspired by their family recipes from Europe.

There’s also a cocktail lineup and a mimosa bar with fresh-squeezed juices in the works.

Sunny’s will be open daily from 8 am to 9 pm, making it a go-to for everything from a casual brunch to a dinner with drinks.

As for Rivulet? They’re relocating to a new spot on High Street in Comfort, though no opening date has been announced just yet.
